XM is a globally recognized forex broker with over 10 million clients across 190 countries. Known for its transparency, fairness, and commitment to customer service, XM provides an extensive range of trading options for both beginners and seasoned traders. With a large user base and a strong reputation, XM needed to elevate its platform to meet modern expectations and enhance user engagement.
The existing platform and affiliate system were outdated, which impacted the user experience and limited the company’s ability to retain and engage clients effectively. XM’s loyalty programs and affiliate competitions lacked integration, making it challenging for users to navigate and participate. With increasing competition in the trading industry, XM required a modern, cohesive design that aligned with its brand values—Big, Fair, Human—and supported its commitment to client satisfaction.
To address these needs, we undertook a comprehensive redesign of XM’s platform, including the main trading interface and the affiliate platform. The project integrated loyalty programs and affiliate competitions seamlessly, creating a unified experience that enhances user engagement and rewards. By modernizing the interface and implementing an intuitive navigation structure, we ensured that users could easily access key features, track their loyalty progress, and participate in affiliate competitions. This design overhaul not only aligned with XM’s values but also strengthened client retention and satisfaction, positioning XM as a user-focused leader in the trading industry.
XM’s redesigned loyalty program provides a seamless experience by automatically upgrading users through tier levels based on their trading activity, allowing clients to access exclusive rewards and benefits effortlessly. The XM Coin calculator tool enhances transparency, empowering clients to track and calculate their potential rewards. This integration builds client trust and boosts engagement, making the platform not only more user-friendly but also more rewarding for active traders.
Through user research, we identified the need for clear, intuitive data representation within the loyalty program. To address this, we designed a dashboard that organizes transaction history, XMC balance, and XMC earning trends into easy-to-understand visualizations. Clients can now view their accumulated XMC points, redemption history, and overall reward trends at a glance. The interface provides both high-level insights and detailed views, empowering users to track and manage their rewards effectively. This design strengthens client engagement by offering transparency and helping users maximize their benefits within the loyalty program.
Based on research into affiliate needs, we developed a simplified workflow for managing private competitions. The process allows affiliates to request competitions with specific parameters such as schedule, prize type, and KYC status. The affiliate manager verifies details and coordinates approval, ensuring compliance and seamless communication. The new interface provides clear guidelines and requirements, including client qualifications and performance metrics. This system enhances transparency, improves competition setup efficiency, and empowers affiliates to engage their clients with targeted incentives, ultimately driving participation and loyalty within XM’s affiliate network.
To support affiliates in maximizing their performance, we developed a comprehensive competition dashboard with real-time data tracking. Affiliates can view their ranking, points breakdown, and overall progress, allowing them to monitor client sign-ups, trades, and point accumulation. The leaderboard and performance metrics provide clear, actionable insights, empowering affiliates to adjust strategies and stay competitive. This user-centered approach to competition tracking helps affiliates focus on growth, driving higher engagement and success within XM's affiliate program.
Following extensive research on user engagement and retention, we revamped XM’s loyalty program with an automated, tiered system. Clients are placed in Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Elite tiers based on trading volume, with each level offering increasing rewards and exclusive benefits. The system automatically promotes or demotes clients as they meet specific criteria, ensuring they’re always in the tier that reflects their activity. With a clear and intuitive interface, clients can easily track their progress, view tier requirements, and understand the privileges associated with each level.
Users receive real-time updates on their progress toward the next tier, with interactive input fields that adjust according to their trading patterns. This design ensures that clients are always informed of their status and the rewards available at each level, creating a more personalized and motivating experience. The responsive interface fosters transparency and encourages clients to actively engage with their trading goals.
To enhance user experience in XM's Copy Trading feature, we developed a streamlined interface for selecting strategies. With over 4,000 available strategies, users can filter by categories like ‘Featured,’ ‘Low Fees,’ and ‘Best Performers’ or further refine by asset class. Each strategy card presents essential data at a glance, including win ratio, drawdown, and the strategy manager's own investment, enabling users to make informed decisions quickly. Clients can choose to copy all current positions or set custom parameters based on their preferences, making it easier than ever to replicate top strategies and optimize their trading outcomes.
This comprehensive redesign of XM’s platform has elevated the user experience by integrating intuitive interfaces, automated loyalty systems, and simplified navigation for affiliate and copy trading features. Through research-driven decisions, we created a seamless journey that enables users to effortlessly access rewards, track performance, and engage with powerful trading tools. The addition of real-time feedback, clear tier progression, and transparent data visualization has not only improved client satisfaction but also fostered stronger loyalty and increased engagement across the platform. This project has positioned XM as a forward-thinking, client-centered brand in the trading industry, driving both user retention and business growth.
